Dunkirk Police responded to 506 Main St. at approximately 2:51 PM on Tuesday, March 31st, 2015 for a report of a fight at that location. Two brothers residing in a first floor apartment along with the wife of one brother and 1 year old child were located. The younger brother was found with a severe laceration to his lower leg, rendering him unable to stand up, with the older brother showing minor injuries to the back of his head and arms. Upon investigation, it was determined that a machete was used in the assault and that weapon was recovered at the scene by officers. As a result of the investigation, the following charges were placed:
David D. Sugg, 23 years old of 506 Main St. Dunkirk, was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony, Criminal possession of a weapon in the Fourth Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Class A Misdemeanors. He was arraigned in Dunkirk City Court Wednesday and bail was set a $5,000.00 Cash or $10,000 Property bond.
Cody Sugg, 21 years old, of the same address was transported to Brooks Hospital by Fredonia Fire and Rescue. He was charged with Assault in the Third Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and will appear in Dunkirk City Court on April 6th.
East Town of Dunkirk Fire department as well as Fredonia Fire responded to assist and administer treatment to the injured parties as Dunkirk Fire Department were on location at a working structure fire at the time.
