On October 18th, 2015, at about 3:50 PM, the Dunkirk Police Department was dispatched to the area of 109 S. Gazelle St. in the city for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers found that a person had been robbed at gun point and assaulted for money. A description was developed and responding officers located a person matching the description running from the area. When officers attempted to stop the subject, the subject fled from officers and into a nearby upper apartment at 91 E 2nd St. The subject barricaded himself for a short time inside the apartment then exited an upper apartment window onto the roof of a porch. After about 25 minutes of negotiating with the subject, he surrendered. The subject, identified as Leonard E. Aguayo, age 28, of 29 Stewart St, Rochester, NY will be charged with Robbery in the Second Degree (C/Felony), Assault in the Third Degree (A/Misd), Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (A/Misd).
