On Monday April 3rd 2017, at approximately 5:45 PM, City of Dunkirk Police responded to a local manufacturing plant for a report of two employees in possession of a handgun. Responding officers located and confronted the two individuals inside the facility. A safety pat-down was conducted on both and officers located and seized a loaded 9mm handgun which was found in one of the suspect’s front pocket. After further investigation it was determined that the one suspect had passed the handgun off to the other prior to officer’s arrival. The suspects, Christian O. Marin-Sanchez, age 29, of Dunkirk, NY and Hector L. Carmona-Burgos, age 44, of Dunkirk, NY do not possess pistol permits. While booking, officers located a prescription bottle on Marin-Sanchez that contained a controlled medication that he was not prescribed. Both subjects are charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree while Marin-Sanchez is additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Both subjects are currently awaiting arraignment in City of Dunkirk Police lockup.
